Our coalition started in July of 2010 out of Mason County United Way and is in the process of getting organized. Approximately four meetings have been held with interested community leaders and plans are in progress for setting time lines on our goals.
To build on effective programs and services already in existence in the community to create a business plan and expand EITC outreach and financial education and planning.
- To establish a working, sustainable coalition that will expand financial literacy opportunities and outcomes for all citizens in Mason County. Focus point will be EITC program, tax preparing services, financial education and budgeting classes.
- To launch a two-year plan developed by a coalition based on client needs for budget and planning skills and under-accessed EITC opportunities.
- Increase participation in EITC
- Increase local capacity for tax-preparation sites (mobile and stationary) to enable EITC.
