WSU Stevens Extension and the statewide WSU Horizons program have supported the work in nine communities in Stevens County since 2005. We have developed a large network of resources and agencies that continue to organize and deliver this community development work. A national evaluation team concluded that Horizons has been "very successful in engaging communities, building a cadre of confident empowered new leaders, providing them with new skills and significantly boosting civic engagement."
We will build on these relationships and leadership to form our new coalition.
Goals
- During this first year we will form the coalition
- We will develop strong guidelines about how to get the work done
- Share asset building developments with all communities in Stevens County
- The first project to tackle will be to establish clear communication strategies.
